Nelson is part of the SAU 29 school district, along with the towns of Chesterfield, Harrisville, Keene, Marlow, Marlborough, and Westmoreland.

Grades 9-12: Nelson students attend Keene High School along with the rest of the school district.

Grades 7-8: Nelson students attend Keene Middle School.

Grades K-6: Nelson Elementary School is Nelson’s only in-town elementary school.
