MoCo’s School of Dance offers a wide variety of classes for 2nd graders and up. Dance is for everybody! Experience the grace and athleticism of Ballet, the fun of Hip Hop, the showmanship of Broadway style Jazz, the artistic freedom of Modern or the high energy of Tap. This spring, all dancers are invited to perform in the production of Aladdin’s Wonderful Lamp on June 4th & 5th at the Redfern Arts Center at Keene State College.
MoCo’s Theatre program invites kids 2nd grade and up to take part in in Musical Theatre and technique focused Acting Workshops. Each Musical Theatre class works together to put on a fully produced musical. All students are cast in a role and learn elements of acting, singing and dancing to put on the production. This spring Teens Musical Theatre will perform The Wild Swans on April 30 & May 1 at the Redfern Arts Center at Keene State College. Tweens Musical Theatre will perform Tortoise VS. Hare on April 10 at the MoCo Arts Black Box Theatre. Acting Workshops take a closer look at developing technique in each budding performer. These classes supplement the Musical Theatre classes or can be taken as a standalone program.
For the youngest students MoCo’s Young Arts program offers classes in theatre and dance for children starting as young as 18 months. Programming follows the physical and cognitive development of each growing child. This spring Storytime Theatre will perform The MoCo Minutemen onJune 12 at the MoCo Arts Black Box Theatre. Students enrolled in Creative Dance A through D participate in the annual Creative Dance Festival, an intimate show for family and friends on June 18 & 19 at the MoCo Arts Black Box Theatre.
Music Production classes focus on original lyric songwriting and music recording. Open to 5th graders and up, each session ends with a fully produced CD to share with family and friends.
