Pygmalion is the story of a bedraggled Cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle and her transformation into a high-society woman at the hands of Professor of Phonetics Henry Higgins. Higgins’ takes on a bet to train Eliza to pass for a duchess at an ambassador’s garden party by focusing primarily on her manner of speech. This famous play has been adapted numerous times, most notably as the musical My Fair Lady and the film of the same name. It is a tale of beauty, class, and power and is as comedic and satirical today as it was when first produced. Brought to life by the exceptional performances, sets and costumes audiences have come to expect from the Players, this is a show for all to experience and enjoy!
Pygmalion features Karron Graves (NH Theatre Award Winner for The Voysey Inheritance), Greg Wood (Absurd Person Singular), Dale Hodges (NH Theatre Award Winner for Outside Mullingar), and Michael Page (Outside Mullingar, Charley’s Aunt). Directed by Gus Kaikkonen.
