See Odysseus’ Fabled Journey in Mything Links at MoCo Arts

Looking for something entertaining to do with the kids this holiday season? Join MoCo Arts Tweens Musical Theatre on an adventure to the Aegean in the hilarious musical Mything Links. Performing Sunday, December 13th in MoCo’s Black Box Theatre on Railroad Street at2:00 & 4:00pm.

Mything Links is the story of Odysseus, a Greek warrior who is trying to make his way home. Standing in his way are the fates, who have other plans. His wife Penelope waits (not so patiently) at home as Odysseus runs into a cast of crazy characters. Sisyphus and his band The Rolling Rocks perform and Atlas sings “World on My Shoulders Blues.” Featuring a cast of 33 students ranging in age from 7 to 11 years, these kids will keep you laughing as they sing, dance and explore these wonderful characters.

MoCo Arts invites kids of all ages to explore the joy of musical theatre. Students as young as 4 years old are encouraged to take part in MoCo’s Storytime Theatre class. They can move on to Tweens Musical Theatre, and then Teens Musical Theatre as they get older. Students in every class audition, rehearse, and perform, learning skills like teamwork and cooperation that will stay with them beyond the studios.

“MoCo is a fun place to be,” says Zilske. “Everyone has a part, and they are all important.”

“I like being in Musical Theatre at MoCo because you get to express yourself,” says Jackie Tremblay, a 4th grader at Fuller School. “We do a lot of fun things in class that help us develop our characters and put emotion into our lines when we are on stage.”
