Music

Music is abundant in the Monadnock region. Classical and chamber music concerts are produced by a number of musical organizations, including the Apple Hill String Quartet, Electric Earth Concerts, Monadnock Music, Monadnock Chorus, Music on Norway Pond, and others. Folk music is strong with the Monadnock Folklore Society, Peterborough Folk Music Society, and various open mics. Organizations such as the Colonial Theatre, The Monadnock Center for History and Culture, The Redfern Arts Center, and others have concerts of many different musical genres throughout the year. Then there are the festivals, such as The Thing in the Spring, and The Keene Music Festival. It’s true that audiences are lucky to have so many musical choices, and it’s also true that musicians who perform in the Monadnock region enjoy “good audience.”
