People have been traveling to the Monadnock region for decades to experience some of the finest theater in New England. From the elegantly restored Colonial Theatre (built in 1924) in Keene to the rural charm of the Peterborough Players (started in 1933), the funky Mole Hill Theatre (created out of a former machine shop) to the innovative children’s theater Andy’s Summer Playhouse – and a number of theatrical groups that perform in town halls and other venues – there is almost always something happening on stage.
